Should we include the Rappel encore track within the track listing? It's included on both the streaming and youtube versions of the album BxHammer (talk) 21:04, 4 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Having a separate track listing just for the bonus track may be inappropriate, but for the sake of clarity I think it would be okay to simply list the encore at the end of the main track listing with a note. jhsounds (talk) 22:46, 7 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
I should also point out that that the encore isn't a bonus track in the conventional sense of say, including a B-side. The encore was left out of the non-special version because it would exceed the maximum duration of a CD. I get the feeling there's going to bit of unrest in that section from other editors, since that until very recently it was a given that the encore be mentioned there. jhsounds (talk) 02:18, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
OK, considering 1) the streamed versions of the album are likely to be overwhelmingly the most popular way the album is listened to and therefore arguably the "standard" edition anyway, 2) the streamed versions do not advertise themselves as "expanded" or "bonus" versions etc, 3) it's only one track, it seems like a reasonable situation to WP:IGNOREALLRULES. Before I add to the mess, I would say this is rather unique. For the album release, I would say it's part of the set because it's the first time the encore was added to the tour. There's also really looking at the "issue" today with streaming as the common accessible way. There's perhaps a forgotten bit here, there was a production issue with the album's release which delayed the US release by 2 weeks. It is possible the production issue played a part in having a regular 1 CD version and a special edition with 1 CD and 1 DVD. Of course, this is speculation and anything deeper is WP:OR but it does make me wonder if there's anything expanded by someone familiar to music production. For instance, we heard about the limited availability to make vinyl in 2020-2021 because its overall production is limited. – The Grid (talk) 21:46, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
There was also an EMI-sponsored web chat in which a fan asked where the encore was, to which Guy-Manuel responded by saying it was on the special edition. I must have misremembered it as Guy-Manuel specifically stating that it couldn't fit on the CD. Nevertheless, it seems unusual to simply list the encore without mentioning that the non-special edition lacks the encore. jhsounds (talk) 22:46, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
This is why I added the note at the bottom instead of having (bonus track) in the track listing itself. It positions the note as more of an historical acknowledgment that the physical pressing is no longer the predominant form of media. jhsounds (talk) 23:56, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
