This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.
Hi, I’m Gemma and I work for AKQA in London. As part of my role, I’ve been asked to help update this article, about the agency's founder Ajaz Ahmed. Per the Terms of Use, I’m disclosing my financial conflict of interest (see template above) and I aim to follow all applicable guidelines. First, I do want to clearly state for the record that AKQA has not previously been involved with this page at all. Its creation was a total surprise to us, no-one at AKQA knows the author, and we have not tried to edit the page. I can see that editors have flagged the page for issues with the content, and I'd like to help with that in the future.
For now, I have just a quick request to see if the photo can be updated? The one used now is over ten years old and isn't the clearest image of Ajaz. I've uploaded a new headshot from this year to Wikimedia Commons that can be used to replace it: Ajaz Ahmed profile photo 2021
Hi again with a quick follow-up: User:Dial911 would you be willing to add the photo? I saw your name in the edit history and you'd helped review my requests for AKQA earlier this year, so I was wondering if you could help. Thanks, GRedgrave from AKQA (talk) 16:59, 24 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.
Hi again, following my request above, I've been working on a draft to update this page and potentially resolve the warning tag. After looking over the current page and the edit history and discussion, and seeing how other biographical pages are organised, I've used sourcing to help flesh this out and suggested a different heading structure as well as a shorter introduction. I've put the draft in my user space here:
The main changes are:
1. Reducing the introduction to just one straightforward introductory sentence, focusing on Ajaz's role in founding AKQA (there's not enough coverage to support "philanthropist" and he is not best known as an author). I also removed the link to List of Internet entrepreneurs since he is not listed there and AKQA is not an "internet" company, it's a creative agency. As well, there is another Ajaz Ahmed from the UK who did found an internet company, Freeserve, so hopefully removing "internet" from this Ajaz's description will prevent confusion!
2. Changing the headings to Early life and Career, which seems more typical for biographies and makes for a clearer separation of content (e.g. the MBE doesn't really fit under AKQA now but you can argue it's not a "Personal life" detail since he received the honours for his work)
3. Relying more on the sources that focus on Ajaz, and taking out sources that are q&as, contributor pieces or not from news outlets. I did keep Digiday as it confirms Ajaz's parents' names and his birthplace.
4. Adding more about the Ajaz's early roles, and the founding story of AKQA, as well as summarising AKQA's history to date.
5. Adding mentions of his board roles and books.
I'd be very grateful for feedback from editors on this, especially to see if this draft could be added to the page. As I am an employee of AKQA, I won't make any edits myself. Thanks, GRedgrave from AKQA (talk) 11:59, 2 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
