This is not the first battle at this well

edit

This well on April 23rd 1923 was place of a previous battle among the most important in Omar al-Mukhtar's jihad against Fascist Italy in the Second Italo-Senussi War, where he led 50 men against 7 Italian tanks. So the battle in November 1941 cannot really be considered the first battle unless one is to completely erase the local Libyan resistance against their occupation. -Pari Sarcinator (talk) 17:53, 8 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Page move

edit

I've moved this page from its current title ("First Battle of Bir el Gubi") to the more neutral descriptive title ("Action at..." disambiguated by date, as there were two of them) per WP:TITLE. None of the sources I've ever seen talk about a battle of Bir el Gubi, let alone a first or second one; the most they say is that there was a clash there between 22 Armd Bde and Ariete on 19 Nov in the opening moves of Operation Crusader, but the same day saw action between 4 Armd Bde and 15 Pz Div at Gabr Saleh, and between 7 Support Grp and units of 90 Lt at Sidi Rezegh, so this engagement was not the only event on that day, nor was it the most important (save perhaps for the people involved). I trust everyone is OK with that. Xyl 54 (talk) 21:33, 5 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

BATTLE of Bir el Gubi

edit

It was a real battle and must be considered so — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.50.210.115 (talk) 14:11, 9 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
