I have reverted the article to the version of 13:32, 27 July 2007, before a section was removed without rationale, and the previous introduction stating the basic facts about the company in a precise way was replaced by a lot of text which was written like an advertisement or a company self portrait, full of fuzzy marketing talk ("AGL is a world-class integrated energy company", "Under Mr Anthony’s leadership, AGL has been the Australian company at the forefront of the fight against climate change", "AGL commands a pre-eminent position in preparation for a future carbon-constrained world" etc.). Encyclopedic articles should be written in a factual and neutral style. When adding information it should be referenced, "Material sourced from AGL fact sheet, 30 July, 2007" is not a precise source citation.

Company representatives editing this article should be aware of Wikipedia's conflict of interest recommendations. Wikipedia is not a free advertising space. One-sided focusing on aspects of the company's activities which are suitable for letting it appear in a positive light is not compatible with WP:NPOV. Criticism of the company belongs into the article too, if it its well sourced and notable.

Some of the information (especially hard facts like the number of customers, market capitalisation, employees, revenue, power stations operated) should be added back with more precise citations.

Copy has been reverted back. Criticism of a company or person which is unfounded, unsourced and defamatory is not allowed.

referencing has been added. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lanshaeoc (talkcontribs)

Falsely accusing other users of vandalism is considered a personal attack.
I explained the reasons for my revert at length. Please address these points instead of just reverting with no explanation other than wild accusations.
Criticism of a company or person which is unfounded, unsourced and defamatory is not allowed. - yes, we agree about that. However, the criticism section that you deleted was sourced by citing a report from a reputable media organisation (ABC News (Australia)) and the opinion was attributed to a notable commenter (Chloe Fox, a member of the Parliament of South Australia), and you failed to explain how her comment was "defamatory". Has she been sued successfully for it?
Other users agree that your text is written like an advertisement and not acceptable under Wikipedia's NPOV policy.

Note: User:Lanshaeoc has also created the article Matthew Horan, which according to [1] is the name of a communications consultant working for AGL (while employed by Cato Counsel). Regards, High on a tree 23:58, 8 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Copy has been changed to reflect Wikipedia's policies on NPOV.

By the way - the "deleting vandalism" bit was an automatic wiki click the box thing...

'Company executives'?? Don't flatter yourselves.... on the point of NPOV, why no mention that this is actually a foreign owned company? All I see is 'Australia', no mention of China. Neutrality please, other energy retailer articles reflect the NPOV principal by being completely transparent. (PS. On the point of NPOV, AGl actually have a pretty terrible rep. in Victoria, at least; according to the 'number #1 ranked consumer product review site in Australia'). Cheers. --203.219.255.133 (talk) 13:03, 3 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dear AGL workers,

Just one of the emails I plan on sharing with the media along with 6 months worth. I have been trying to pay AGL for 6 months YES you heard right I AM TRYING TO PAY YOU......... I AM CHASING YOU TRYING TO GIVE YOU MONEY.

I cannot get a clear answer out of this woman and I still have not got any one highers email details to escalate this. So I'm sending it to as many AGL contacts as I can before I send everything I have through to a current affair tomorrow morning.

You guys need to conduct yourself better
