Some people could assume it largely affected the outcome of the 06-07 playoffs. Matchup wise the Chargers run game most likely would have had them favored heavily in the AFC Championship game against Peyton Mannings Colts. A strong passing attack from the Colts offense is always hard to beat, however the Chargers defense that year was battle tested and proved to be one of the leagues best throughout. Offensively S.D. would have had no trouble putting up points on the Colts defense. Add this to the thought that S.D. would've still been undefeated at home on the year and the game would've been played at their place, its hard to suggest that San Diego wouldn't advance to the 2007 Super Bowl that year in a game against the Bears where they most likely would've been favored again. I think that the 2006 divisional game had a huge affect of the outcome of the NFL season that year because if it wasn't for New Englands upset on the west coast, the San Diego Chargers probably would've been 2007 Super Bowl Champs.
