Not located in Haiti
editI know there is lots of talk in the media about this being the last earthquake to hit Haiti but this was not really a Haiti earthquake, it actually occurred offshore of the Dominican Republic and did not affect Haiti significantly. The coordinates given by the USGS are 17.98 N 69.34 W RapidR (talk) 01:43, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
- I think you're right... this USGS site discusses the precursor to the current earthquake having been located in the Dominican Republic. I can't find any extended discussion about the 1984 "Haiti" quake in any news sources. Calliopejen1 (talk) 19:06, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
