Split
editThis page looks too cluttered for me to handle, i recommended this page to be splitted into 1941–44 Pacific typhoon seasons, 1945 Pacific typhoon season, 1946 Pacific typhoon season, 1947 Pacific typhoon season, 1948 Pacific typhoon season, and 1949 Pacific typhoon season. To be noted though, 1940 Pacific typhoon season had it's page for that, i recommend this to be removed (i say the section holding it in this article) soon after the splitting. --SMB99thx XD (contribs) 10:18, 14 May 2017 (UTC)
- I suspect that 1941-44 PTS will have enough information for articles and would fully support a split of all articles proposed.Jason Rees (talk) 10:40, 14 May 2017 (UTC)
- All will be split at some point for obvious reasons in the way JR described above. YE Pacific Hurricane 05:11, 3 June 2017 (UTC)
Done I finally splitted this.--SMB99thx XD (contribs) 08:41, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
- This was handled in a very hastily way. Why wasn't the talk page of moved when the 1940-49 PTS page was moved to 1941–44 Pacific typhoon seasons moved not to mention that while generally speaking I've been a strong advocate for splititng up the old WPAC and NIO seasons, I would have personally waited a little longer before splitting this up. Also, why does this redirect to a category? YE Pacific Hurricane 09:41, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
- For the 1940-1949's talk page, i intentionally don't move it because there is a category of this said redirect about 1940-1949. That's why later on i did move this talk page's contents into that category (same title)'s talk page. Why this redirect into category? First, i believe that 1941-1944 seasons is a permanent split of 1940-1949. Secondly, i believe that 1940-1949 (category) is pretty similar (because of many links into like 1945, 1946, etc.) after the split. That's why i do it. Sorry for my not-very-good English.--SMB99thx XD (contribs) 09:56, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
- Generally speaking, Pacific typhoon climatology is where all when decade articles get split up, it gets redirected to that page. Also, it's a common Wikipedia practice when the article gets moved, the talk page gets moved as well. YE Pacific Hurricane 23:45, 27 June 2017 (UTC)

Material from 1940–49 Pacific typhoon seasons was split to other pages. The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter pages, and it must not be deleted so long as the latter pages exist.
