“Motu-hurakia Island”
editThe Cowan source ([1]) gives the place of his death as “Motu-hurakia Island”. Is this an older name, or just a mistake? — HTGS (talk) 06:49, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- An older name for Rakino is Motuhurakia or Hurakia. Nurg (talk) 00:33, 17 December 2023 (UTC)
Shouldn't this page be named "Ihaka Takaanini" (or even "Iihaka Takaanini")?
editApparently the Takaanini railway station was named as such (rather than "Takanini" or "Takānini") because he (or his descendants) preferred that his name be spelled that way. If so, wouldn't his first name be spelled without a macron as well? Are there actually any sources that spell it "Īhaka"? PatricKiwi (talk) 23:42, 17 December 2023 (UTC)
