Alexandre Aussant, known by her stage name as Mona de Grenoble, is a Canadian drag queen from Montreal, Quebec.[1] She was the winner of the third season of Big Brother Célébrités.[2]
Originally from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu,[1] Aussant performs in a camp drag style, with her performances based around stand-up comedy rather than dancing or lip syncing.[3]
In 2019, she launched Provocante, a bi-weekly stand-up comedy night at Cabaret Mado.[4] In 2022, she premiered Mes Premières Chaleurs, her first full-length solo comedy show, at Montreal's Zoofest festival for emerging comedians.[5]
On September 18, 2022, Mona de Grenoble, Barbada de Barbades and Rita Baga presented an award at the Prix Gémeaux ceremony, reading the nominees; and bringing out Gisèle Lullaby, the third season winner of Canada's Drag Race, to announce the winner.[6] She had been a contributor to Marie-Lyne Joncas's Noovo talk show Le Fabuleux printemps de Marie-Lyne.[7]
She was one of the contestants on season 2 of Le maître du jeu, the Quebec adaptation of the UK panel show Taskmaster.[8] She ended up winning the season.
In March of 2024, Mona de Grenoble won the Discovery of the Year Award at the Gala Les Olivier .[9]
Launching her first solo comedy tour in November 2024, Mona will be performing in the province of Quebec for at least two years. Having sold over 25,000 tickets so far,[citation needed] projections indicate she will continue to sell more of the tickets.[10] She has received positive comments about her show by the Canadian newspaper La Presse. [11]
She is slated to host the pre-broadcast artisans gala for the 26th Quebec Cinema Awards on December 2024.[12]
