Lee Ann Jung is an American author, educator, professor, and consultant specializing in inclusive education. She has written eight books for educators,[1] including Seen, Heard, and Valued (Corwin Press),[2]Your Students, My Students, Our Students (ASCD),[3] and Assessing Young Children (Pearson, with a forthcoming edition from Brookes Publishing).[4] Jung’s work includes over 50 articles in journals such as Phi Delta Kappan and Educational Leadership, along with other peer-reviewed publications.[5] Her writing focuses on topics related to inclusion, universal design for learning, classroom assessment, and grading reform.
Jung began her career as a special education teacher in rural Alabama in 1994. After working as a teacher and administrator for eight years, she transitioned to higher education. She is currently a clinical professor at San Diego State University and has previously held positions at the University of Kentucky and Samford University. Her consulting work, conducted in the United States and over 30 other countries, focuses on equity in education, supporting neurodiverse students, and professional development in universal design for learning and research-based interventions.[6]
Jung has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Early Intervention [7] and Young Exceptional Children, is section editor for the Routledge Encyclopedia of Education,[8] and was a member of the advisory board for the Mastery Transcript Consortium.[9] She served as the 2017–2018 chair of the Classroom Assessment Special Interest Group of the American Educational Research Association.[10]
