K-Love is a Philippine romantic comedy television series created by Corinna Vistan and directed by Bobby Yan. The show premiered on Viu on October 14, 2022 as a Viu Original series.[1] It stars Iza Calzado, Isabella Daza, Sue Ramirez, Gabby Padilla and Jake Cuenca.[2]

The series is inspired by the "anatomy of K-dramas", which contain three rules describing the world of K-drama: (1) love conquers all, (2) fantasy comes to life, and (3) escape from reality.
Synopsis
editThe series revolves around the story of five Filipino K-drama enthusiasts who let dramas inspire their decisions.[3] The five main characters, Tish, Jay, Shiela, Val and Frances,[4] are friends from different walks of life, despite the risks and challenges they face in life, their love for K-drama becomes a way for them to find their own happy ending.

Production
editThe production team involved in the creation of K-Love includes various individuals with notable backgrounds and achievements in the entertainment industry.[6]
Series Creator Corinna Vistan, who has previously worked as a Marvel Studios executive, has contributed to 19 Marvel films[7] released to date. Vistan's work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was awarded the Gold Clio,[8] while Doctor Strange and Thor: Ragnarok were awarded the Silver Telly in 2016 and 2017 respectively.[9]
Series Director Bobby Yan, an accomplished professional in the industry. Yan has received multiple accolades throughout his career, including seven Emmy Awards for his work[10] as a Producer and Editor on MLB Tonight, aired on MLB Network. He has also participated in the ABC Disney Directing Fellowship and has lent his talents to a variety of television shows, such as Agents of Shield, Showtime's The Chi, and The Politician. Yan's recent independent film, Marz, has been featured in renowned film festivals worldwide, including Sundance, Toronto, London, and Palm Springs.[11][12] With his extensive experience and notable achievements, Yan brings valuable expertise and creativity to the production of K-Love.
Series Cinematographer Ian S. Takahashi, joins the production team bringing his experience from notable projects such as James Gunn's The Suicide Squad 2, Ron Howard's Hillbilly Elegy, and music videos for artists like Harry Styles and Beyonce. Takahashi was also recognized with a Clio award for Best Cinematography for a Kaiser Permanente advertisement featuring NBA Star Stephen Curry.[13]
The team also includes accomplished individuals such as Tara Sering, former Editor-in-Chief for Summit Publications, known for her contributions to contemporary women's fiction and highly successful book sales in the Philippines. Tweet Sering, a best-selling author, received recognition from the Manila Critics Circle for her novel Wander Girl and was honored with the Carlos Palanca Writers Memorial Award, a prestigious literary accolade in the country. Lea Dizon, a Script Development Executive, previously worked for the Walt Disney Studios and was involved in a successful children's animation series called Valt the Wonder Deer, which aired multiple seasons in the U.S. and China. Katherine Visconti, known for her work on shows such as Designated Survivor, FBI, and Chicago PD, contributed her writing talents to this groundbreaking series. Additionally, the wardrobe will be overseen by fashion stylist and current VOGUE (Philippines) fashion editor, Pam Quiñones.
