Joseph Chaplik is an American Republican politician who is one of the Arizona state representatives in Arizona's 3rd district. He was originally elected to the district 23 seat after defeating incumbent Republican Jay Lawrence in a primary election.[1] He and incumbent John Kavanagh won in a two–seat election in 2020, both defeating Democrat Eric Kurland by over 15,000 votes.[2] He was reelected in 2022 to the 3rd district, after redistricting and nearly won the Speaker of the House vote. Representative Chaplik is a founding member of the Arizona Freedom Caucus and serves as Vice Chairman. In his previous two terms, he has served as Chairman of Ethics Committee, Vice Chairman of Appropriations Committee, Vice Chairman of Commerce Committee, and member of the Health and Human Services and Transportation Committees.
