Hanakawa Dam (Japanese: 花川ダム) is a gravity dam located in Miyagi Prefecture in Japan. The dam is used for irrigation. The catchment area of the dam is 52 square kilometres (20 sq mi). The dam impounds about 4 hectares (9.9 acres) of land when full and can store 233,000 cubic metres (8,200,000 cu ft) of water. The construction of the dam was completed in 1964.[1]
