- Comment: This is a prime example of WP:CITEKILL. Instead we need one excellent reference per fact asserted. If you are sure it is beneficial, two, and at an absolute maximum, three. Three is not a target, it's a limit. Aim for one. A fact you assert, once verified in a reliable source, is verified. More is gilding the lily. Please choose the very best in each case of multiple referencing for a single point and either drop or repurpose the remainder.Additionally this is WP:BOMBARD. Just, please, do not do that. t smacks of advertisingPlease sort out your referencing so that a correct review can be made 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 16:33, 23 November 2024 (UTC)

The xx network is a blockchain platform that combines cryptocurrency functionality and communication features. It was developed by cryptographer David Chaum, known for his pioneering work in digital currency and privacy technology dating back to the 1980s.[1][2]
xx coin (abbreviation: XX[a]), (previously known as Elixxir and Praxxis[3][4]), is the native cryptocurrency of the xx network.[5]
The xx network integrates quantum-resistant blockchain technology with privacy-focused communication features. It is designed to protect against both current and future privacy threats, including those potentially emerging from advances in quantum computing.[6][7]
History
editThe xx network launched in 2020, with its mainnet becoming operational in 2021.[8] The project was founded by David Chaum, who previously developed eCash[9] in the 1990s and conducted research in anonymous communication systems, particularly mix networks.[10]
Technology
editThe xx network incorporates several technological elements in its architecture:
cMixx Protocol
editThe network employs a mixing protocol (or mix network) called cMixx, designed to protect metadata in communications and transactions.[11]Note that cMixx (with two "x") is the xx network software implementation of Mr. Chaum's cMix (with a single "x") cryptography for anonymous communications presented in his "cMix: Mixing with Minimal Real-Time Asymmetric Cryptographic Operations" paper.[12][13]
xx consensus
editThe xx network uses a nominated proof-of-stake (nPoS), as its consensus mechanism similarly to the Polkadot blockhain, which allows token holders to participate in network governance and node operation.[14]
Quantum Resistance
editThe network incorporates cryptographic methods intended to resist potential future attacks from quantum computers.[6][15]
xx coin
editThe xx coin (XX) serves as the native cryptocurrency of the xx network. It is used for:
- Network governance
- Payment for network services
- Staking and node operation
- Transaction fee settlement
Applications
editSeveral decentralized applications operate on the xx network:
- xx messenger: A decentralized messaging application, using the cMix protocol aiming to offer metadata protection and quantum-resistant encryption.[16][17][18]
- Phoenixx.io: A decentralized application (dApp) that integrates Web3 functionality with private communication features.[19]
- Proxxy: A privacy-enhancement tool that acts as an intermediary between users' wallets and RPC providers to reduce metadata collection.[20][21]
- haven.xx.network: A decentralized social networking platform that prioritizes privacy and resistance to surveillance.[22][23]
Team
editThe project is led by David Chaum, who serves as the founder and CEO. Chaum's previous work includes DigiCash (eCash), Elixxir, and Praxxis.[24] The xx network team comprises experts in cryptography, distributed systems, and blockchain technology.[25]
