editTushar Unadkat (born April 12, 1971) is an Indo-Canadian artist, entrepreneur, and film director. He is the founder and CEO of MUKTA Advertising, a multicultural marketing and public relations agency based in Toronto, Canada. Unadkat is also known for his significant contributions to the arts and media industry, particularly in promoting South Asian culture through various platforms.
Early Life and Education
editTushar Unadkat was born in Porbandar, Gujarat, and raised in Vadodara, Gujarat. He completed his early education in India before moving to Canada to further his studies. Unadkat holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (Applied Art) from Maharaja Sayajirao University (1995). His passion for the arts led him to pursue further studies in film and media, which laid the foundation for his career in the creative industries. He pursued his Honors in Photography from the University of Wolverhampton (1996), England, followed by a Master of Design from the University of Dundee (1998), Scotland. The University of Glasgow granted the Stevenson Scholarship (1999) to extend his research in Germany. Afterward, Unadkat pursued his Business Certification from the University of Toronto (2011).
Career
editUnadkat began his career as a Creative Director in 2000, quickly establishing himself as a prominent figure in the media and advertising industry. In 2002, he founded MUKTA Advertising, which has since become a leading agency specializing in multicultural marketing, focusing on the South Asian community in Canada.
Throughout his career, Unadkat has been involved in various high-profile projects, including the annual fundraiser for the Oakville Hospital Foundation and managing PR for Art Forum San Francisco and Moksha Canada Foundation. He has also been a key figure in organizing cultural events such as the Festival of South Asia, Mosaic Festival of Mississauga, and Taste of India in Toronto, which celebrate and promote South Asian heritage.
