editSpyda Mc was born in 1986 Alimansi Wanzu Ainomugisha. He started his music career in early 90s as a Underground Rapper until 2000s and he put his music career on hold to teacher Rap in the Slums of Kampala and outside the country. In 2024 he changed to Afro Beats and released songs like Abantu Mukisa. He released his breakthrough through song "Abantu Mukisa" in 2024 and he was nominated in several awards across the country.
Spyda Mc was the first African to do the song cover of Dear Mama by Tupac Shakur.[2]
Early Life
editA ghetto boy from Kibuli, Spyda MC shares that after dropping out from YMCA where he was pursuing a diploma,[3] he started his music career in 2004. He reveals that his first artistic platform was the famous Bonfire, a regular jam platform at the National Theatre in Kampala.
