- Comment: Fails WP:ENT. None of their films has a dedicated article, which makes me really question if the films are actually significant. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 00:17, 4 October 2024 (UTC)

Slav Velkov (born 6 March 2000) is a Bulgarian director, writer, and painter. He is known for his short-form motion pictures, which have premiered at festivals worldwide and gained popularity on social media since 2020.
Career
editAt age 14, Velkov was one of eight winners at the 2nd annual Nevena Kokanova Festival for Theatre and Film Arts in Bulgaria with his short narrative screenplay Who? (2015).[1] In 2016, Velkov co-wrote, co-produced and directed his second short film, M (2017)[2], which was widely covered in Bulgarian media, including Bulgarian National Television[3] and Bulgarian National Radio.[4]
In 2020, Velkov directed the short social film, Change Bulgaria (2020), about the 2020-2021 Bulgarian protests. As a result of the film's popularity on Facebook, Velkov and the cinematographer Georgi Goshev appeared on Bulgaria ON AIR television[5]. Velkov's next project was the short documentary film, The Medal (2021), that premiered In Competition and opened the international Master of Art Film Festival in 2021.[6]
Velkov's 2021 short narrative film, A New World, starred Bulgarian actors Petko Venelinov and Boyan Mladenov and screened at the Big Apple Film Festival[7] and The Artists Forum Festival of the Moving Image in New York City.[8] Later in 2021, Velkov shot his next project, Strangers (2023), in New York's Chinatown. The movie was Official Selection at the 2023 Soho International Film Festival[9]. Earlier the same year, Velkov worked at The Wall Street Journal, where he wrote, produced, and edited multiple videos on the entertainment and technology industries.[10]
Slav is currently working on his next short film project, which he shot in Bulgaria, New York, and New Jersey[10]
