Sandra Okunzuwa (born 25 February 1996)[1] is a Nigerian actress, producer, lawyer, and entrepreneur known for her work in Nollywood, the Nigerian film industry. She has gained recognition for her roles in Something Like Gold (2023), She won one of the 2021 Eko Star Film & TV Awards from the Nigerian International Film and TV Summit.[2] In 2021, She was announced alongside Ike Onyema to host the Africa Choice Awards.[3]
Early Life and Education
editSandra Okunzuwa was born and raised in Edo State, Nigeria. She attended the University of Benin, where she studied Law.[4] Despite her legal background, her passion for acting led her to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. She also underwent professional training to hone her acting skills.[5]
Career
editSandra Okunzuwa started her acting career in 2018 with minor roles before landing more prominent parts in Nollywood productions. Her breakout role came when she starred in the movie Dear Dianne,[6] which earned her critical acclaim and opened up more opportunities in the industry. She has since appeared in numerous films and television series, playing a variety of characters that highlight her acting range.[7]
Some of the notable movies she has starred in include Blind Spot, Embittered Heart,The Wildflower,[8] and Something Like Gold alongside Kunle Remi and Mercy Johnson, which was released in 2023.[9][10] She is also known for her performances in television series, where she has portrayed complex and dynamic characters.[11]
