Originally called "Parque de Condado", the park was re-named in honor of Antonia Quiñones de Soto Gras who spearheaded an effort along with "El Club Civico de Damas" to refurbish the park in 1945. In 1999, the park was refurbished by the City of San Juan using a design by architect, Andrés Mignucci.
