Draft:Pinghua and Tuhua

Pinghua and Tuhua is one of the ten primary dialects of the Chinese language in the Language Atlas of China (2nd edition).[1] Pinghua and Tuhua are distributed across 60 county-level administrative regions in Hunan, Guangdong, and Guangxi, with a population of approximately 7.78 million people.

The Language Atlas of China (2nd edition) divides them into four branches:

The Guinan branch is also called the “Southern branch", while the other three branches are collectively referred to as the “Northern branch”.
