Gema Revuelta is an associate professor at the Department of Medicine and Life Sciences of Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). She has a degree in Medicine and Surgery from University of Barcelona, a master's degree in science communication from UPF, and a PhD in biomedicine also from UPF. She is the director of the Studies Centre on Science, Communication and Society at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (CCS-UPF). She is also the director of the Master in Scientific, Medical and Environmental Communication at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra-Barcelona School of Management (UPF-BSM)[1]. From 1996 to 2015 she was deputy director of the Observatori de la Comunicació Científica. From 2003 to 2008 she was Director of Scientific Culture of Barcelona, at Institut de Cultura de Barcelona[2]. Her research has been published in various journals such as Nature Biotechnology[3], Science Communication[4][5], JAMA[6], Medicina Clínica[7] or Trípodos[8]. She is the author of books such as Periodistas científicos: corresponsales en el mundo de la investigación y el conocimiento (Editorial UPC); Dilemas y Acuerdos Éticos en Comunicación Médica (Reuters-Civitas, 2010),[9] Medicina y Salud en la prensa diaria (Noclay, 2008)[10] or Retos Éticos de la e-salud (Fundació Víctor Grífols i Lucas, 2010).[11]
