History

edit

Docks Beers is a 25 hectolitre craft beer brewery founded in October 2018. It is based in a converted church on King Edward Street, Grimsby and close to the town's docks.[3] It is the only commercial brewery in the town.[4]

Docks Beers was supported by a £64,000 grant from start-up backers E-Factor at the time of its founding.[5]

The Docks Academy venue is located upstairs in the converted church building. It held its first gigs in 2020.[6]

In 2024, Docks Beers launched the beer Helihopter in aid of Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, which was celebrating its 30th anniversary.[7] The brewery also launched the Docksfest music event at Cleethorpes 5,000-capacity Meridian Park open-air venue the same year.[8]
