Bernard Nikaj (December 9, 1978 in Gjakovë) is a Kosovar economist, served as Minister of Trade and Industry of Kosovo and ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in Brussels.

Biography

He was involved in the activities of humanitarian organizations in Kosovo, then worked in 2001-2002 as a humanitarian aid specialist. European Agency for Reconstruction Information and Communication.

Since 2002, he has been working in the Government of Kosovo; first he was engaged in the health reform in Kosovo, then in the years 2004-2011 he was a financial advisor, while in the years 2011-2013 he was the main political advisor. In 2006, he graduated in economics from the University of Pristina, and two years later received a doctorate in economics from the London School of Economics.

In the years 2009-2016, he taught management and entrepreneurship at the University of Pristina. In 2010 he received his doctorate in management and political analysis from the University of Maastricht .

He was deputy minister (2013) and then minister of trade and industry in 2013-2014.

In 2016, he was the ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in Brussels.

Bernard Nikaj is married and has two children.
