"Bailar Contigo" on YouTube |
"Bailar Contigo" (Spanish for "Dance With You") is a song by the American band Black Eyed Peas and Puerto Rican singer Daddy Yankee, as the fourth single from the album Elevation.[1] It interpolates "Scatman (Ski-Ba-Bop-Ba-Dop-Bop)" by Scatman John.
Lyric video
editA song visualizer audio of the song lyrics was uploaded to YouTube on November 11, 2022, along with other video visualizers of the audio song lyrics that premiered simultaneously with the release of Elevation.[2]
Music video
editThe official music video for the song was released to YouTube by the official Black Eyed Peas channel on March 31, 2023.[3] In the video, at the beginning, sounds of ambulance sirens are heard, while two members of the band appear painting the wall and end up painting the camera screen. Later, the members of the band and Daddy Yankee appear dancing in a nightclub, including J. Rey Soul, while in a part of the song they clap and sing. The video clip featuring the members of the Black Eyed Peas, Daddy Yankee and J. Rey Soul, and the background and other people appear in animated mode.[4]
Plagiarism allegations
editIn March 2024, Iceberg Records sued the Black Eyed Peas and Daddy Yankee, alleging that the song sampled "Scatman (Ski-Ba-Bop-Ba-Dop-Bop)", when they only agreed that it could be interpolated.[5] On July 7 of that year, the Black Eyed Peas and Daddy Yankee filed a motion to dismiss the case.[6]
