Arslan Khalid

Arslan Khalid is a Pakistani politician and entrepreneur known for his work in digital governance and information technology. He has held prominent positions in the Government of Pakistan and the Government of Punjab, contributing to digital transformation initiatives and youth empowerment programs.[1][2]

Khalid served as the Minister of Information and Technology in the Government of Punjab from July 2022 to January 2023. During his tenure, he led digital transformation efforts to enhance transparency and growth. Key initiatives included integrating Web 3.0 technology into government processes, launching the "Go Punjab" platform for digital public service delivery, and initiating large-scale IT training programs for youth to promote freelancing.[4]

From March 2019 to April 2022, Khalid was the Focal Person to the Prime Minister on Digital Media. In this role, he designed and implemented the government's digital transformation strategy. He oversaw digital communications, promoting public outreach, transparency, and accountability. Notable projects during this period included the establishment of the Digital Media Wing (DMW), coordination of the NCOC’s COVID-19 response, and participation in the Prime Minister's Special Committee on National Social Media.

Khalid has been a core committee member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) since 2008. He played a pivotal role in developing and managing the party's digital strategy, contributing to its electoral successes in 2013 and 2018. [5][6]

Initiatives

In January 2024, Khalid founded Earn Tech, an initiative aimed at equipping underprivileged youth with digital skills. The program includes a training phase, an incubation period, and eventual inclusion in a talent pool to facilitate employment opportunities.

Khalid is also the CEO of Innova Labs and Diagnostics, a healthcare organization he founded in 2017. The company provides diagnostic services and recently partnered with American Tele Physicians to introduce Pakistan's first AI-assisted diagnostic and health monitoring portal.

Arslan Khalid earned his MBBS degree from King Edward Medical University, Pakistan, in 2008.
