The Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic entered World War II with the Soviet Union after the German declaration of war on June 22, 1941. More than 500,000 people from Armenia were conscripted to the Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army during World War II from 1941 to 1945, almost half of whom did not return.[1]
