Biography

C. Nataraj attended the Indian Institutes of Technology from 1977 to 1982 where he received a BS[2] in Mechanical Engineering. He gained an MSc in Mechanical Engineering[2] in 1984 and a PhD in Engineering Science in 1987, both from Arizona State University.[3][4]

Academic work

He has worked on research problems in nonlinear dynamic systems with applications to machinery diagnostics, rotor dynamics, vibration, control, electromagnetic bearings, mobile robotics, unmanned vehicles and biomedical diagnostics.[5][6][4][2][7][8]

Research

Nataraj established two research centers in the college of engineering at Villanova University. He served as founding director of the interdisciplinary Center for Nonlinear Dynamics and Control (CENDAC),[9][10][2] founded in 2003.
