Bruce Doucette is an American sovereign citizen guru[1] and self-proclaimed "Superior Court Judge of the Continental uNited States of America".[2][3]
Doucette, the owner of a computer repair shop in Denver, Colorado, advised people in encampments in Costilla County on how to oppose land-use regulations
At the commencement of the Bundy standoff at Malheur National Wildlife Refuge he announced that he would convene a "citizens grand jury"[4][5] and threatened to hold "a trial with the redress of grievance" against county and other government officials.[6][7] He was blocked by a judge from participating in the trial.[8]
In 2018, he was sentenced to 38 years in Colorado state prison after a two-week trial on 34 counts of racketeering, tax evasion, retaliation against judges and other charges.[9] This included the filing of fraudulent liens, a common sovereign citizen harassment tactic.[10]
