The men's welterweight event was part of the boxing programme at the 1988 Summer Olympics. The weight class allowed boxers of up to 67 kilograms to compete. The competition was held from 20 September to 1 October 1988. 44 boxers from 44 nations competed. Robert Wangila won the gold medal.[1]
