The movie was shot in the Crimea for New Horizons. It was one of two New Horizons films starring Mike O'Hearn the other being The Keeper of Time (2004).[1][2][3]
It was O'Hearn's first film. He was doing an appearance in Las Vega when talent agent Kenny Kassell introduced him to Roger Corman who was looking for an actor to sign to a three-picture deal to make films. O'Hearn was selected over Andy Bryniarski. The film was shot in Ukraine. "We went through four directors," said O'Hearn. "I wasn't there more than two weeks before they fired the first director. The cast was great, but dealing with a lot of the Russian-speaking people was difficult... The second director was a Russian who spoke no English. I was there for four months, but we had to go back and reshoot it about six months later to finish the film. We had a new director, a young kid right out of USC. In two weeks we shot 30 percent of the movie."[4]
