Balu (Persian: بالو)[a] is a village in, and the capital of, Rowzeh Chay Rural District of the Central District of Urmia County, West Azerbaijan province, Iran.[4]

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 10,524 in 2,274 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 12,501 people in 3,200 households.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 14,058 people in 3,639 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]
