Asmitha Neelamegam, also known as Ashmitha, is an Indian film actress, model and makeup artist from Chennai who works predominantly Tamil cinema.[1][2][3][4]
Early life and career
editNeelamegam started her career as a child at the age of 13 in Asianet's “Ceylon Salon,” a comedy show in Tamil that she anchored. She has played lead actor roles in four movies. Some of her ad films include her works with Pothys, Sree Kumaran Thanga Maligai, Aavin, etc.[5]
Although she became successful in her media career, Neelamegam felt her calling was not acting or modeling. So after 22, she made a shift to pursue makeup as her career. She was formally trained under a Mumbai-based makeup artist. Returning from her training, she realized that the techniques and products she was taught to work on made no sense to the skin in the South. And that led her to unlearn and self-educate through rigorous practice and trying new looks.[6][7]
Her new full-fledged academy space opened up for students in the year 2018 in Saligramam, Chennai. Over 12,000 students have taken courses to learn self-grooming, start businesses, and be financially independent women.[8]
