William Matthew (born 26 December 1993 in Stirling, Perth, Australia) is an Australian equestrian athlete.[1] He competed in several international dressage competitions and is assistant rider to Olympic and World Champion Isabell Werth in Germany. In 2022 he received the prestigious German Goldenes Reitabzeichen, which is a valuation for his outstanding results at competitions in Germany.[2]

Matthew represented the Australian team at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France where they finished 10th in the team competition. In the Grand Prix he rode to a personal best of 69.953% with his horse Mysterious Star.[3]
