Will Putney is an American record producer and metal musician.[1][2]

Early life

Putney grew up in Sayreville, New Jersey. He began playing guitar as a teenager and formed his first band when he was 15.[3] He studied biomedical engineering at the Stevens Institute of Technology.[4]

Will Putney is a founding member and current guitarist for the deathcore band Fit for an Autopsy.[5]

Better Lovers

In 2023, Putney joined the supergroup Better Lovers.[6]

Producing

Putney has produced albums for dozens of notable acts and bands, including Knocked Loose, Norma Jean, Body Count, The Acacia Strain, Thy Art is Murder, Suicide Silence, and Northlane.[7][8][9][10] His studio, Graphic Nature Audio, is located in Kinnelon, New Jersey.[4] In an interview with Metal Hammer, Ice-T described Putney as "the Dr. Dre of metal."[11]
