COVID-19 timelines
editHi there, I have been working on the Timeline of the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia pages for the past four years and eight months. I am thinking of ending my work on those timelines at the end of December 2024 since the Malaysian government and health authorities no longer treat it as a pandemic and have ended lockdown measures. The Wikipedia global timeline also stopped in 2023. Just wanted to check with other users working on Malaysian topics. I'm originally from Malaysia but have migrated to New Zealand. I mainly work on New Zealand topics now including the New Zealand timeline. I am thinking of ending that timeline at the end of the year as well since COVID is no longer considered a pandemic down under. Cheers. Andykatib (talk) 07:38, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- It seems that that COVID-19 will no longer be tracked, so there is little to reflect here. Thanks for the amazing dedication. CMD (talk) 08:01, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks @Chipmunkdavis:, will stop coverage at the end of December 2024. Cheers. Andykatib (talk) 19:32, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
Women in Green's October 2024 edit-a-thon
editHello WikiProject Malaysia:
WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in October 2024!
Running from October 1 to 31, 2024, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Around the World in 31 Days! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 countries (or broader international articles) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.
We hope to see you there!

MOS question
editHello all,
Is Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Malaysia-related articles ready for consensus yet?
Thanks so much!
JuxtaposedJacob (talk) | :) | he/him | 04:47, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- The Malaysia MOS hasn't been touched since 2021, some common practices at the time there may have changed since them and someone aought to go through it (such as the name of Tun Abdul Razak's page). Also as for as I'm aware the page still needs an RFC. DervotNum4 (talk) 06:47, 24 November 2024 (UTC)

New location map for Malaysian cities and municipalities
editGreetings all.
I have created a new location map of cities and municipalities in Malaysia at Module:Location map/data/Malaysia municipalities. Credits to Derkommander0916 for the municipal boundaries. The base map being SVG, further improvements are still doable.
The idea is to use this map for articles about cities, municipalities and local governments. For the time being, I have added this map in select articles below.
- Kuala Lumpur
- Petaling Jaya
- Subang Jaya
- George Town, Penang
- Seberang Perai
- Malacca City
- Ipoh
- Seremban
- Kuching
- Miri
- Kota Kinabalu
Feel free to drop any suggestions or comments regarding this. hundenvonPG (talk) 03:15, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
