What articles use an image?

edit

So you've found an image but don't know anything about it. Is there a way of finding where it has been used in an article? [1] Kelly222 (talk) 22:30, 9 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Multilingual versions of this

How about translating all this precious information into other languages? Remember: not all Wikipedia contributors speak English 190.136.209.50 13:45, 6 September 2007 (UTC)ManuelReply

Hopefully someone will create pages similar to these on the Wikipedias in other languages. I wouldn't suggest anyone duplicate this page yet, because it still needs work. --Gmaxwell 17:23, 6 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Someone has on tr:Vikipedi:Vikipedi'deki resimler hakkında bilmediğiniz 10 şey. For other languages, people on the other language Wikipedias will have to translate it. 68.39.174.238 21:03, 12 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Clause #8: deletion proposal

edit

Number 8 currently reads, "Ideally, all images used on Wikipedia would be on Wikimedia Commons." This is not true. Wikipedia's primary mission is not to be a repository of free images. Its primary mission is to be the best possible encyclopedia. As a result, Wikipedia has -- and must have -- thousands upon thousands of articles about the arts that can only be relevantly illustrated with copyrighted graphics. --M@rēino 00:39, 14 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image polices in WP and WCommons

edit

Wikipedia's image policies differ slightly from Commons'; so there will be cases where files on WP do not belong on Commons. - 65.203.234.66 (talk) 16:50, 21 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Is it ok to use wikipedia, or other wikimedia service, to make it work like Open Clip Art Library ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by DynV (talkcontribs) 23:40, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Clause #9 uploading files when filename changes

edit

This isn't entirely true. It may be necessary to upload a file multiple times in the case of a name change, as it is not possible to "move" an image. - 65.203.234.66 (talk) 16:50, 21 July 2008 (UTC) (talk) 09:03, 8 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

World War II

edit

Throughout this period, the neutral United States took measures to assist China and the Western Allies. In November 1939, the American Neutrality Act was amended to allow Cash and carry purchases by the Allies.[49] In 1940, following the German capture of Paris, the size of United States Navy was significantly increased and after the Japanese incursion into Indochina, the United States embargoed iron, steel and mechanical parts against Japan.[50] In September, the United States further agreed to a trade of American destroyers for British bases.[51] Still, a large majority of the American public continued to oppose any direct military intervention into the conflict well into 1941.[52] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.114.212.169 (talk) 00:22, 7 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

This seems irrelevant here.--Felix Folio Secundus (talk) 12:01, 5 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Should we add a "WP:DYKI redirects to here, to see the Did You Know nomination instructions, see WP:DYKNOM" MasterMatt12💬📝 01:43, 3 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
