I am the "main editor" of the selected anniversaries main page templates in the Hebrew Wikipedia.
When prepering today's template, some weeks ago, I checked the date about the Dead sea scrolls, that appears here, and it doesn't look too trustworthy, for sure not to apear on the Wikipedia's main page.
Can any sysop remove it please?

- Ooops, I see that this anniversary was already hidden, and that I saw a cached version. sorry. Anyway I think it can be completely removed. eman 01:33, 13 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- Done. -- PFHLai 19:10, 2005 Feb 13 (UTC)
Dresden
editI have included this, as despite the horrors the Nazis unleashed, and regardless of whether this attack (Bombing of Dresden in World War II) was right or wrong, it was truly awful - and should not be forgotten. The Germans in World War II, even at the height of Nazism, were people too. zoney ♣ talk 10:42, 13 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- This is one day too early. -- PFHLai 14:47, 2005 Feb 13 (UTC)
- I made a similar comment on the main page discuusion page, rating Dresden over Rudy getting "gonged" and was directed here. (Note: I looked for "here" before posting to the main page discussion and couln't find it). If Dresden is going to be featured tomorrow (see main page discussion), how about featuring the bombing in Gulf War I of the Iraqi bomb shelter in 1991 (even though bombing civilians is now an official war crime).
- Good suggestion. It's only a line on Gulf War, but it's probably a better item to feature than Rudy Giuliani getting knighted. My first choice was actually Nepalese People's War, except that the page is in pretty bad shape. .... I'll wait a tad longer to see if there are better suggestions before I start revising the anniversary template. I'm hoping for new stuffs on the page February 13.-- PFHLai 17:00, 2005 Feb 13 (UTC)
- The invasion of Laos by South Vietnam in 1971 is also a good topic, IMO, but I need someone who know the topic to mention this with a little detail somewhere, possibly on History of Laos. Right now, it's a skimpy little line on Vietnam War. -- PFHLai 19:06, 2005 Feb 13 (UTC)
- Rudy is gone. But I've decided not to post the mis-bombing of Baghdad in 1991. Even though it's an event that may be worth mentioning, we don't have the stuff in Wikipedia to be featured right now. With merely two sentences on the page Gulf War, it seems a little weak to feature on the MainPage. I hope we'll have more details on the topic by next year. ...
- I dunno, maybe the eve of Valentine's Day is always a 'slow news day' ... :-) -- PFHLai 20:19, 2005 Feb 13 (UTC)
- Actually, the residents of Dresden are marking the anniversay today. See AFP story
- Of course, today is Sunday. People have to go to work on Monday. And people are probably busy with something else on Valentine's Day tomorrow ..... -- PFHLai 17:00, 2005 Feb 13 (UTC)
The page now says "22:14 (CET?)" on Feb.13th, so I'll move the item one day ahead. -- PFHLai 20:10, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Heavy Metal Credit
editThe phrase "... which is recognised as the first major album to be credited with the development of the heavy metal genre" is possibly biased. There were several contenders for the title of the "first" since 1968. Perhaps it would be fairer to rephrase as "... recognised as one of the first major albums to be credited ...".Vinzklorthos (talk) 03:15, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
- The article says the album "has been recognised as the first major album to be credited with the development of the heavy metal genre" (cited to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame), so I'm reluctant to go against that. —howcheng {chat} 17:15, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
