Question about phrasing.

edit

Under "What is an administrator? What is a sysop?" it list as things they can do as "blocking and unblocking IP addresses." this may be confusing to new users. Should this be edited to make it clear that they can block registered users? (I don't want to mess with an FAQ without prior approval) JoshuaZ 05:41, 20 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Mess with it all you want :) And yes, that might be a useful addition.

Where do I go?

edit

I can not seem to find where to go to get a page semi protected, who do I contact?--Migospia 02:34, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

A Criticism section from Iyer gets deleted by unregistered visitors. Can that be stopped. Also is this the right way I am asking for help?? I would like to be on the right way. Since I am new to all these tools available at Wikipedia Please suggest me the right steps. BalanceRestored 07:38, 20 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Go to WP:RFPP. Real96 07:42, 20 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Contradiction

This page says: "You can report problems with admins misusing their privileges at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard." The top of WP:AN says however: "For evasion of blocks, abuse of admin tools, or other incidents, see Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents (WP:ANI)"

Which is true? --Yooden

Thank for pointing that out, I've fixed the link here to point to WP:ANI. --Philosopher Let us reason together. 00:16, 26 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Being a Wikipedia administrator

edit

I’m currently not an administrator, but might want to be one someday. How do I become an administrator? Seventyfiveyears (talk) 13:39, 7 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Shouldn't this be at FAQ/Administrators?

edit

"Administration" seems like it reinforces the idea that there is a paid workforce here. —valereee (talk) 12:20, 20 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Abuse of power.

edit

I wish to report we sadly may have a case of peer being misused. Adamston.97 I believe has been misusing his power for his own selfish gains and constantly barring anyone from being able to contribute to a Wikipedia page and even making un called for threats and insults. you made one edit before this and haven't been reverted...? ltbdl (talk) 15:47, 10 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
It’s true Adamston.97 is abusing his power. 92.15.149.196 (talk) 01:50, 14 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
