I like this too. "Contact us" seems inspired (it is like a requirement on most sites for years). Sorry to comment on Z's after R's--gradients are also interesting. —SusanLesch (talk) 10:50, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

My favourite proposal so far. Slightly ahead of Alexfusco5's attempt. I made some comments over there that would apply here too. Headbomb {ταλκWP Physics: PotW} 14:20, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Low-res

edit

The Featured Picture box is far too narrow. With the current image, the accompanying text runs for only one or two words per line before the text wraps - all but impossible to read. Anaxial (talk) 21:53, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Forgot to add - the Search button stretches out of the edge of the box at the top (and a few pixels off the edge of the screen, come to that). Anaxial (talk) 21:55, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Nice!

I really like this one. I would only change a few things. I think "Welcome to Wikipedia" should be a little bigger so people know immediately they are in the right place. Also, if we need a "Contact us" icon at all, it should not be between two boxes; it disrupts the flow of your design. If a link is needed, I suggest putting along the top in italics with "Introduction", "Site News", etc. Finally, "Wikipedia Community" should be above "Sister Projects". People coming to the Main Page are, in my estimation, more likely to be looking for or to be helped by discovering those resources than by finding sister projects or other language wikipedias. Once again, you did a great job. Thanks for the hard work. -Rrius (talk) 21:04, 9 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
