History
editAfter the submission of Fifth grade to VFD resulted in the article being kept, it was dramatically alone in the world of school years. Very rapidly after this vote was finalized, modest stubs began to appear for all other school grades (that did not yet have articles). A navigational template, category, and slew of appropriate redirects for each page was rapidly developed to help flesh this out.
This WikiProject is an attempt to develop standards for:
- these school year articles
- infoboxes and other templates
- redirect conventions

Structure
editThe structure for these articles should attempt to address:
- General characteristics of students in the given year (e.g. age)
- Category of education level of the year (e.g. secondary education)
- General subject matter (at a high topical level) covered in the year (e.g. addition of fractions, national history, anatomy of mammals)
In addition, the articles should determine a way to present this information for any cultures within which the school year by the name of the article is used, in a way that indicates the distinctions but is still as completely informative for each as possible.
The latter topic (general subject matter) could be categorized among:
- Mathematics - math, algebra, calculus, trig, etc.
- Language (primary) - spelling, penmanship, vocabulary, phonics, grammar, and also literature and writing
- Social studies - world history, local history, political geography, law, etc.
- Physical sciences - geology, chemistry, physics, etc.
- Life sciences - biology, ecology, anatomy, etc.
See Fifth grade for an example of this categorization scheme.

General strategy and discussion forums
editInfoboxes
editThere is a developing navigational template in use at articles such as Fifth grade. The current navbox in use follows the North American educational system's matriculation process, but currently does not indicate this limitation. There is no template page for this navbox, here is an example:
Preceded by Fourth grade |
Followed by Sixth grade |
