Wikipedia:WikiProject Astronomical objects/Stub processing
This page is for top-level coordination of semi-automated stub triage/stub processing efforts for WP:ASTRO. If you've made a new set of stub processing tables, please add links to them under an appropriate heading below.
Conversation threads shouldn't be here. WT:ASTRO is probably the best place for centralized discussion of anything.
Tools
editNOTE: Anything that a) causes significant server load or b) makes any changes to the wiki (even just semi-automated) should go through the process outlined at WP:BOT.
Chris's Perl scripts
editThese don't cause substantial load, and output has to be edited into the wiki manually, so running these doesn't have to go through WP:BOT. A bot-based solution might still work a bit better.
- /tools/stub listing perl script - Crawls a category and dumps its list of pages to a text file.
- /tools/stub triage perl script - Processes a list of stub pages and emits a wiki-markup table giving statistics for each stub. Currently has features specific to WP:ASTRO, but should work elsewhere too.
Be warned that the character count is way off, due to the difficulty of robustly parsing that. Among other things, articles that substitute infoboxes instead of transcluding them will have inflated sizes.
Main belt asteroid stubs, 22 Jan 2012
editThese lists were generated on 22 Jan 2012 by crawling Category:Main Belt asteroid stubs. There are about 19k pages, almost all of which will fail WP:NASTRO as-written.
Mark entries with {{tick}} if they pass the guidelines, {{cross}} if they fail the guidelines and you want them redirected, and Fixed{{fixed}} if you did the redirection yourself. That way, someone can later write a script to automatically redirect stubs that reviewers flagged as "fail", without mangling anything else in the process.
