Resources and advice
editThis section is made to inform contributors who are not necessarily regular editors of Wikipedia.
- How to create an account: Click on "create an account" at the top right corner and follow the instructions. An account means you will have a user profile, it will be easier to track your contributions, and for you to talk with others.
- How to create a new article: Start by searching for what you want to write about in the search box to see if an article already exists on the same topic or on a very similar one. A useful trick: you can copy and paste the code from another article: Pretend you want to edit that article, copy its code, paste it in your own article space, and replace the text with your own while keeping the code. Cancel (bottom left) the editing of the other article. Show preview (bottom left) and then Save your article.
- How to edit an existing article: Top right corner of an article: read (default mode), edit (click on edit to edit) and view history (to see all the previous changes that were made to this article).
- The importance of sources: Everything you write should be verifiable. You can quote academic references, newspapers, websites, etc. Make sure to have at least a few third-party references that offer deep coverage of the topic.
- Talk pages: Top left corner of an article. Used for discussion and to add templates.
