In a world where we can't seem to stop arguing about every little thing, even on TV in front of more than 67 million people, it's nice to know the one thing you can't debate about is numbers. You can certainly try (as often does a certain someone who didn't make the list - but he probably will next week — despite #3's appearance) but at the end of the day, the numbers won't lie. And thankfully, we here at the Top 25 Report won't lie about the numbers—all 25 of them.

For example, you can fight over whether or not a movie or TV show is good or bad, but there's no way to deny viewership, like the 100,000s of views that those on this list got. Saying a name 2 times (#7) or putting a 2 after it (#20) doesn't always mean it's twice as nice, but it at least lets us know that it's a sequel (#9). 9 and 11 are two numbers that, if you're American, usually conjure up one of two feelings when put together: the sound of the police (woop! woop!) or the sound of 2 towers falling (#5). And we're only 50 days from finding out who POTUS number 47 will be (#25), and since #3 on our list has nearly 1/2 of the polling numbers and our #2 is making Trump seem like a real 0, there's a good chance we'll be seeing the 1st female president.

Rank Article Class Views Image Notes/about
1 James Earl Jones   3,034,998   One of the most respected African American actors ever, particularly for that booming voice that spoke iconic lines like "No. I am your father.", "Everything the light touches is our kingdom.", "Steel isn't strong, boy, flesh is stronger!" and "This is CNN", James Earl Jones had a storied career of nearly seven decades, resulting in him being one of the few who won the EGOT (albeit with an honorary Oscar). Retired ever since appearing in Coming 2 America in 2021, he died on September 9, at the age of 93.
2 Laura Loomer   1,434,117   Donald Trump's supporters are concerned about all the influence he's receiving from this activist and self-proclaimed "pro-white nationalist" and a "proud Islamophobe", who has already been banned from various platforms for hate speech. Let's just say Marjorie Taylor Greene, who recently received a prolonged parody on The Boys, is complaining about Loomer, so even other far-right conspiracy theorists think she goes too far!
3 Kamala Harris   1,284,808   After the Republicans, come the Democrats through the vice-president who is Trump's adversary in the upcoming election. The 2024 United States presidential debates started, providing an opportunity for her to show all the undecided voters who only know her by name why they should go her way.
4 The Greatest of All Time   1,153,526   This Kollywood science fiction action film starring Thalapathy in his 68th film in a lead role was released last week. Earlier this year, the actor announced his political entry, making this movie his penultimate work ever, thus his fans celebrated it worldwide. The film debuted at the second place at the worldwide box office, behind only #7, on its opening weekend. It also became the second Tamil film to enter the global weekend chart of Comscore, with the other film being the same actor's previous film. The film grossed 350 crore (US$42 million) worldwide in its opening week, against a budget of ₹300−400 crore, becoming the the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2024 and the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of 2024. Thalapathy's next and last film has now been announced, and the fans are already preparing for the One Last Dance!
5 September 11 attacks   1,132,328   23 years have passed since this tragedy took place in three different US locations, where many lost their loved ones due to a terrorist attack masterminded by Al-Qaeda. For those interested, it also marks 23 years since the release of the criminally underrated soundtrack from the famously bad movie by this writer's favourite chanteuse, Mariah Carey. The picture on the left summarizes all of it.
6 The Perfect Couple (TV series)   1,010,108   This American mystery drama series, which is an adaptation of the 2018 novel of the same name by Elin Hilderbrand and includes Nicole Kidman (pictured) in its cast, premiered on Netflix last week.
7 Beetlejuice Beetlejuice   1,009,928   36 years later, director Tim Burton and actors Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara returned to a small Connecticut city being haunted by weird ghosts. Filled with Burton's signature aesthetics and many funny moments, including a musical number featuring one of the corniest songs ever written, this movie was warmly received and had an impressive $111 million opening in North America, which was already enough to cover its production budget.
8 Deaths in 2024   999,325   Given one of the quotes from #1 (better use this song now than when the unnecessary prequel arrives):
'Til we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle
The circle of life
9 Beetlejuice   881,184   The death list interrupted, but with three mentions of his name, "it's showtime"! Fresh off Pee-wee's Big Adventure, in 1988 Tim Burton directed the story of a recently deceased couple trying to scare away two yuppies (and their goth daughter) from their old house, at a certain point bringing in the hyperactive undead maniac the movie is named after. The Geffen Company tried to get a sequel shortly after the movie, with Burton himself thinking about doubling the insanity in Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian, but Betelgeuse and Lydia Deetz only had a cartoon and a musical adaptation before the proper follow-up listed above.
10 Rebel Ridge   679,584   This film, starring Aaron Pierre as a former Marine and Don Johnson as the chief of a corrupt police force, was released by Netflix on September 6 to positive reviews.
11 Chappell Roan   659,137   The Gen Z star became "pop music's next phenomenon" with last year's The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, her debut solo album that had sleeper hit written all over it. At this week's VMAs ceremony, the fiery-haired firebrand set ablaze a castle backdrop during a performance of her song "Good Luck, Babe!", about a flaming homosexual in denial, after setting the internet on fire when she cursed out a photographer on the red carpet for telling her to "shut the fuck up", responding in turn, "You shut the fuck up!". During her speech, the singer dedicated her win to the drag artists who inspire her, as well as the queer and trans people who fuel pop. And even if the brightest stars can burn out the fastest, here's to hoping Chappell has the fuel to keep the fire going; if not for the public, then at least for herself.
12 Eve Hewson   645,398   #6 has a big role for the daughter of Bono, who has been acting for over a decade, including other TV\streaming series such as Behind Her Eyes, Bad Sisters and The Knick, plus movies with the likes of Sean Penn, Tom Hanks, Ethan Hawke and Jamie Foxx.
13 Jeffrey Jones   639,317   In #7, while Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara returned with their characters from #9, the other member of their family (Ryder's father, who in the original had recently married O'Hara) receives a prolated death, depicted through an animated sequence. After all, the filmmakers wouldn't even attempt to bring back his portrayer Jeffrey Jones, who preceded that movie with notable roles in Amadeus (amazing film) and Ferris Bueller's Day Off (great film), as he basically ruined his career after becoming a registered sex offender in 2002, and hasn't worked at all since Deadwood: The Movie in 2019.
14 Jannik Sinner   634,905   In both genders, this year's tennis Grand Slams played on hard courts were won by the same player: after Aryna Sabalenka got the Australian Open-US Open double, it was time for Italian Jannik Sinner to do the same, overcoming how his adversary Taylor Fritz had the support of the Flushing Meadows crowd.
15 Emily Armstrong (musician)   627,871   The lead singer for Dead Sara was hired for the reformation of a popular nu metal group (#19).
16 Chad McQueen   617,225   The son of Steve McQueen, who followed him into both acting (most notably as one of the Cobra Kai in The Karate Kid) and racecar driving, died at the age of 63. The family lives on through his son Steven R. McQueen.
17 Speak No Evil (2024 film)   581,206   #7 is expected to have another big weekend at the box office, and the presumed runner-up is this American remake of a Danish thriller, where a seemingly affable British family (whose patriarch is James McAvoy, pictured) brings some Americans to visit their country house, while hiding some dark secrets and motivations.
18 Deadpool & Wolverine   575,240   Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman teamed up for what is not only the third Deadpool movie and the fourth Wolverine one, but the first X-Men-centered movie of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Its impact is reflected on $1.3 billion in the worldwide box office (ranking in the 25 highest-grossing movies ever) and the fact that it's still present on this list nearly two months after release.
19 Linkin Park   548,279   Originally disabanded under tragic situations in 2017, this group decided to reunite with #15 replacing the deceased #22. Heated debates emerged, and another editor has written about it.
20 Stree 2   522,715   This Bollywood comedy horror film and the fifth installment in the Maddock Supernatural Universe released 4 weeks ago continues its theatrical run as the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2024.
21 Dave Grohl   521,207   A musician I want to discuss for a change! The rock star who evolved from Nirvana drummer to Foo Fighters frontman is here for his announcement that he fathered a daughter from an affair, adding that "I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness".
22 Chester Bennington   489,193   #19 originally ended after the suicide of one of their singers.
23 Tyreek Hill   459,730   The 2024 NFL season started, and the first gameday for the Miami Dolphins was quite an experience for their wide receiver: he was detained for a minor traffic violation just outside Hard Rock Stadium, even being handcuffed, but managed to be released and actually enter the arena to help the team win the game.
24 Liev Schreiber   456,713   One of #6's main actors who has had a prolific career, including being Sabretooth in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, a wrongfully imprisoned man in the first three Scream movies, and the title character of the show Ray Donovan.
25 2024 United States presidential election   453,075   #3 certainly solidified her chances as America's future president, after last week's presidential debate, throughout which her rival talked about immigrants in Ohio abducting and eating dogs and cats, as well as transgender operations on illegal aliens in prison.
