Earth's Mightiest Articles
Prepared with commentary by Igordebraga

Even if Infinity War kept the crown for a third week straight - bringing along its villain, the character who's supposed to defeat him, an actress from its cast, its sequel, the previous Marvel movie, the whole franchise twice and the list of moneymaking movies it keeps climbing - seems like the world caught up with the Avengers, leading to quite an international list: Indian performers, Malaysian elections, the Eurovision contest, an American actress about to become British royalty, a Canadian musician going with a South African billionaire to a fancy ball, and, as to be expected in the past few months, the K-Pop act EXO. The other article who broke two million views has some relation to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Donald Glover is not on this list for being (Ultimate) Spider-Man's uncle, but for being successful rapper Childish Gambino. Finishing off, the yearly celebration of Mother's Day and the year-long mourning of whoever left us.

For the week of May 6 to 12, 2018, the 25 most popular articles on Wikipedia, as determined from the WP:5000 report were:

Along with hosting Saturday Night Live, Glover also was the musical guest under the guise of Childish Gambino, debuting the racially charged single "This Is America", which afterwards topped the Billboard Hot 100. If an Indian actress got views for her wedding (#9), why not an actor - who married actress and former Miss India Neha Dhupia in a private ceremony - as well? Indian viewers seem to be equal opportunity ones.

Along with returning Mahathir Mohamad (#12) as prime minister, the May 9 election also marked the first time the Barisan Nasional party stopped being the governing one for thirty years.

An Indian actor who was the widower of Savitri (#11). He's in her biopic, of course.
24 Elizabeth Olsen   468,098

The Scarlet Witch continues to be the most searched cast member of #1. Pretty clear she's broken out of Mary Kate and Ashley's shadow.
25 Untitled Avengers film   467,899

We open and close with Marvel's congregation of superheroes. Fans just can't wait to see how the downer that is #1's ending will be solved, even if Avengers 4 is still a year away.
