This resource collates and classifies sources often used in articles linked to the Philippines and Filipinos similar to what other WikiProjects have done and aims to be as comprehensive as possible similar to WikiProjects Christian music, Venezuela and Video games.
The scope of this resource was initially concentrated on publications and various media outlets based in the Philippines and/or have a focus on the country and its people; government entities, NGOs, advocacy groups, think tanks and other websites can be included in the collation and classification of sources - one example can be found in the reliable and unreliable sources list provided by WikiProject Venezuela. A general list of reliable sources covering various international media outlets can be found on this page.
Discussion about the reliability of a certain source or certain sources can be discussed on the project's talk page or at the Reliable Source Noticeboard

General notes
edit- Non-inclusion on this list does not imply the reliability or unreliability of a media outlet or a non-media source.
- Advertising revenue may also include blocktime arrangements and proceeds from publication of notices and announcements from juridical and other governmental entities.
- Allocations refer to funding provided by owners (such as but not limited to religious broadcasters and (co-)founders).
- Any error and/or omission by a media outlet or a non-media source should be clarified or filled by other reliable sources.
- Be cautious of sponsored content and/or press releases whether disclosed or undisclosed (see the section on paid reporting).
- Opinion pieces should be cited accordingly and be cautious when citing opinions (see Wikipedia:Reliable sources#Statements of opinion).
- Start and end dates are determined based on information provided by relevant persons and entities, news reports and WHOIS queries.
- Tabloids may be used with caution (see Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources#Tabloids).
- Talk show content should be treated as opinion pieces (mostly represent the viewpoints of the host and its guests, not necessarily the platforms utilized).
- Though media outlets that use the English language are preferred, there are no restrictions over the use of media outlets utilizing non-English languages (see Wikipedia:Verifiability#Non-English sources).
- While most if not all sources listed here are online, offline sources are also allowed as long as their bibliographic information is clearly provided to allow others to access them. Assume good faith when editors use offline sources (See Wikipedia:Offline sources).
- Consensus can change over time and sometimes be overridden.

Paid reporting
editSimilar to Indian news organizations, some Philippine news outlets intermingle regular news with sponsored content and press release–based write-ups such as but not limited to reviews, articles and profiles of individuals and entities with unclear or no notability, with little to no disclosure.
Do exercise caution in using such sources for factual claims or to establish notability. Look at the tone and language of the article, its placement in the publication, use of generic bylines not identifying an individual reporter or reviewer, overlap in language with articles found in other publications and on other websites, and others. If in doubt, consult the talk page.
Paid reporting examples
editBelow are examples of sponsored content although articles and posts needing further scrutiny is not restricted to these sections alone.
