Judicial filibusters

edit

I've just read today an article claiming that the Dems intend to filibuster President Trump's Supreme Court nominee, and this has me confused -- I thought that under the current Senate rules, they can't filibuster judicial nominees at all? Or did I remember them wrong (the filibuster rules, I mean)? 2601:646:8E01:7E0B:CFC:95E:6BD7:D508 (talk) 03:04, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Under the current rules, they can. This can change.--WaltCip (talk) 03:45, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Under the current rules, there is no filibuster for judicial nominees except for Supreme Court nominees. But as mentioned, the Senate could change its rules to eliminate the filibuster for Supreme Court nominees as well. Neutralitytalk 04:56, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clarifying! 2601:646:8E01:7E0B:CFC:95E:6BD7:D508 (talk) 06:02, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
