Soap Opera General Hospital cast names

edit

Why are General Hospital recurring cast member names in different colors? Some are in back, some in blue & some in purple — Preceding unsigned comment added by 8.41.64.131 (talk) 10:44, 1 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That would be General Hospital and/or possibly List of General Hospital characters. Items with links will appear blue initially and then purple if you've linked to them. Items in black are unlinked. That's true anywhere on Wikipedia. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots11:15, 1 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
And by the way, this was already answered at the Help Desk after you posted the same question a couple of days ago.[1]Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots11:20, 1 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Images on Tolkien topics

edit

Are there supposed to be images used without any information about the creating artists like in Middle-earth Orc characters (just as a random example – there are many more articles including images like that, in fact)?--Tidrek (talk) 17:24, 1 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you right-click and open each of the four images, you'll see information about their origins. In two cases they are claimed to be the original artwork of the person (explicitly named in the second's caption) who uploaded them, and who has uploaded at least ten other similar images (found by searching Wikipedia for articles containing the name); I see no reason to doubt these claims. The other two are taken from a specified film, used under the 'fair use' rationale.
I have no connection with the article, and had never seen it until now, so I am not defending any of the images: I myself question the validity of the 'fair use' of the film images, but am not well-enough versed in this procedure to make a judgement (see Wikipedia:Non-free content). {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 2.122.58.120 (talk) 19:40, 1 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
There is the question of why it´s a good idea to have Tom Loback's images and name on WP. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 07:13, 2 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
...but then, it´s not obviously a bad idea either: [2]. May he know peace in the Halls of Mandos. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 07:26, 2 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
