Searching a database for a string

Can anybody see any way to search CambridgeCore for a part. string. Quote marks don't work. ∯WBG^converse 18:49, 30 July 2019 (UTC)

It would help to have the specifics. One system I'm familiar with is to use % for one unknown character and * for any number of unknown characters. So, mo%al* would search for modal, moral, modality, morality, morals, etc. SinisterLefty (talk) 02:01, 31 July 2019 (UTC)

Know that (wildcard) but that didn't work in another case, either. Over here, I am inclined to search for all articles that mention the exact phrase "Voice of India" in order. ∯WBG^converse 09:12, 31 July 2019 (UTC)

I agree that their own search engine is pathetic, so use google.com instead, as follows:

site:https://www.cambridge.org/core "Voice of India"

I found 22 matches, few enough to sort through manually [1]. Much better than the 35277 their own search engine found, presumably every article containing both the words "voice" and "India" (they do at least appear to ignore the "of"). SinisterLefty (talk) 12:16, 31 July 2019 (UTC)
