Can't configure Wireless repeater, what can be the problem.

edit

I brought some wireless repeater, when I plug the repeater on energy the wireless led start to blink, but the power on doesn't.
Anyway, I want to configure the repeater, so I plug the repeater on energy and the plug an Ethernet cable on repeater and then plug the other side on my pc, but it doesn't recognize the repeater, so I cant configure it, its like the repeater was not plugged on my pc by the Ethernet cable.
What can be the reason of this problem?
Its not the cable because I tested with a brand new cable that came with it and also with other cables.201.79.71.230 (talk) 21:45, 8 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

What is the make (Netgear, D-Link, Belkin, TP-Link?) and model of your router? Tevildo (talk) 22:31, 8 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Maker is tda, model is nw21201.79.60.58 (talk) 11:54, 9 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Does the Ethernet port indicator light on the router light up when you plug the cable in? 196.213.35.146 (talk) 12:29, 9 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Correction. The lights on the Ethernet port on the PC. After looking at pics of the router I'm not sure if the 2nd symbol is Ethernet or not. The wireless and power are pretty obvious. 196.213.35.146 (talk) 12:35, 9 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Most routers/repeaters/access points have some sort of web browser interface - often 192.168.0.XXX. Can you ping the default ip address for the repeater? Is your pc configured with static or dynamic ip address? Try using the "obtain ip automatically" in your network adapter settings. The repeater is likely to have dhcp turned on as default. 196.213.35.146 (talk) 12:45, 9 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
My pc is configured with DHCP turned on, the ethernet port of the pc doesnt blink, and ipconfig shows nothing, the same with trying to ping the repeater ip. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.79.60.58 (talk) 12:54, 9 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
