Media players controlling master volume

edit

A new player (GOM) I am using takes control of the computer's volume. When I turn the volume down, it turns down the Windows XP master volume. Is there a way to lock the master volume? Thanks, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 11:29, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You mean this? Download the new version and/or reinstall it. It isn't changing the master volume on my Windows XP computer. Czech is Cyrillized (talk) 14:45, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It also says on this page that "Master control will control the master volume on Windows XP and lower only" - though it doesn't say how to change this (if possible.) But if it isn't controlling it for Czech is Cyrillized, then maybe their webpage is outdated; do a reinstall of the latest version, as reccomended above. --Yellow1996 (talk) 17:35, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dang. I guess I'm stuck with it. Thank you kindly. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 00:21, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What kind of hard drive is this?

edit

Hello, what kind of hd is this -> [1] its model is Seagate Barracude ATA IV ST380021A. Would it work with this enclosure?Ppspp22220 (talk) 20:59, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That looks like a standard desktop Parallel ATA connector (and Molex power connector). That enclosure should work fine. Note that per Seagate's datasheet the ST380021A is a 12 year old 80Gb device - so if your goal is to rescue valuable old data from a broken computer, the enclosure should be just the thing to use; but if you're looking to actually use this antique drive for storing stuff, it's not at all a cost-effective idea. -- Finlay McWalterTalk 21:05, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
